In this article, we would like to introduce a project commissioned by a client in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Through a remodeling company, we held direct discussions with the homeowner and created a fully custom-made wall storage unit for the dining kitchen.
1. Key Points of the Storage Design
• An integrated storage unit that makes the most of the kitchen and dining wall, which measures 4.5 meters wide
• A multipurpose shelf structure that can store not only kitchen appliances and kitchenware, but also various other items such as display pieces
• Adjustable shelves that can be repositioned according to the height of the items being stored
• A counter-style top surface that secures space for food preparation and other tasks
2. Design Considerations
• By keeping the storage height to 1650 mm or less, we created an open space without a sense of pressure
• A white finish that harmonizes with the colors of the walls, ceiling, and floor
3. Size and Specifications
• Dimensions: W4500 × H1650 × D300–400 mm
• Material: Polyester and melamine decorative plywood, a material with excellent durability and ease of cleaning
