Dining Chair A.TYPE Series: Bringing Showa-Era Style into Modern Living
Project Showcase: A Dining Chair That Combines Nostalgia and Functionality
Inspired by the nostalgic dining chairs of the Showa era, reimagined for today
This custom-made dining chair is inspired by traditional Japanese dining chairs and redesigned to fit modern lifestyles. With a width of approximately two-thirds that of a standard chair, it has a compact design that fits neatly even in limited spaces. It is also lightweight and easy to move, offering both usability and beauty.

A Design That Makes the Dining Area Look Beautiful
The back of a dining chair is often seen throughout the home. Since dining chairs spend much of their time tucked under the table, we designed this chair so that it looks beautiful from the back as well. This enhances the overall look of the dining area and creates a distinctive interior atmosphere unlike any other.

The Appeal of Natural Wood and Oil Finish
The frame is made from solid natural walnut or oak. It is finished with a clear oil coating made from naturally derived ingredients. This finish preserves the natural texture of the wood, allowing you to feel the character of genuine timber. Among wood finishes, oil penetrates deeply into the wood and enhances its natural beauty. It protects the wood without interfering with its ability to breathe, while also helping prevent deterioration through its water-repellent properties. Maintenance is also easy.

Material Variations and Seat Customization
▪️Walnut
Walnut is known for its luxurious dark brown color and strong presence. It is also highly impact-resistant and popular as a premium material that can be used for many years.
Seat: Silky Velour [10 colors] 100% polyester

▪️Oak
Oak has a natural and bright appearance, making it a popular wood species that combines beautiful grain with excellent durability. The seat fabric can also be selected from 20 colors, allowing customization to suit the atmosphere of your room.

Seat: Simone [20 colors] 70% acetate, 30% wool

About Seat Height
We recommend choosing the seat height according to the height of the table you will be using.
In general, it is said that the ideal difference between the tabletop height and the seat height is “between 25 cm and 30 cm,” but the most comfortable height varies from person to person.
We recommend measuring the most comfortable and least tiring height in your actual usage environment before choosing the seat height.
