This time, we would like to introduce an order from a client who wanted to create a way to access the attic using storage stairs.

1. Background of the Request
This custom-made project involved producing storage furniture that also functions as stairs for accessing an attic room.
Because it is designed not only as a staircase but also as storage furniture, it makes effective use of limited space.
While securing a path up to the loft, it also increases the storage capacity of the room, making it highly practical custom-made furniture.
2. Design of Storage Stairs Leading to the Loft
The structure looks as though storage boxes have been stacked to match the steps of a staircase, creating a design that naturally connects to the loft.
By using the height differences of the steps as storage space, the staircase and storage are integrated into one piece.
It has a distinctive appearance and serves as an accent in the room.
3. Walnut-Pattern Material Matched with the Room’s Doors
For the material, we used decorative plywood with a walnut pattern that matches the room’s doors.
It harmonizes with the colors of the floor and doors, creating a unified impression throughout the space.
The calm wood-grain texture enhances its presence as furniture.
4. Attention to Storage Sizes Close to a Square Shape
The client requested that
“the storage spaces be as close to a square shape as possible.”
For this reason, each step was designed slightly higher than a standard staircase in order to secure storage space.
The design balances visual proportion with ease of use as storage.
5. Functionality as Stairs
Although it is storage furniture, it also functions properly as stairs for accessing the loft.
The balance of step height and depth was adjusted to create a structure that allows safe climbing up and down.
It is designed to ensure practicality within a limited space.
6. Practicality as Storage Furniture
Each step space can be used for storage, making it possible to store books, small items, interior accessories, and more.
A wider space is also provided in the center section, allowing it to be used for display or storage.
In addition to its role as a staircase, it also offers solid functionality as storage furniture.

The form of the storage units arranged like stairs creates a three-dimensional design not found in ordinary furniture.
It offers not only functionality but also appeal as interior furniture, giving it a strong presence as an accent in the space.
