1. Custom-Made Storage Designed to Fit the Space

Storage space is one of the surprisingly common concerns in a home.
We often receive requests such as, “I want more storage, but I don’t want it to feel oppressive,” “Ready-made furniture does not fit the space,” or “I want a design that blends naturally with the interior.”

This project is a custom-made counter storage cabinet made using oak veneer. We paid attention not only to the size, but also to the color tone, applying a stain finish according to the client’s request and completing it with a calm matte finish. The result is storage furniture that naturally blends into the space while making the most of the beauty of the wood grain.

Even a small difference in the size of storage furniture can greatly affect both the impression of the space and ease of use. By creating the furniture custom-made, we can finely adjust not only the dimensions to match the installation location, but also the door layout and overall balance.
For this piece, we created a simple horizontal form that provides generous storage capacity while reducing any sense of pressure.

Being able to achieve the “just-right size” that is difficult with ready-made furniture is one of the unique appeals of custom-made furniture.

2. Beautiful Wood Grain Created by Oak Veneer

Looking at the photos from the production stage, you can see that the wood grain is clearly visible even in its bright, unstained state.
Veneer is made by thinly slicing natural wood and applying it to a base material, allowing you to enjoy a natural expression similar to solid wood while also achieving stable quality and a good cost balance.

Oak veneer was used for this storage cabinet. Oak is known for its strong and beautiful grain, and it is a popular wood species often used in high-quality furniture. Especially for large-surface storage furniture, the uniform and beautiful grain unique to veneer stands out beautifully.

3. Stained Finish That Reproduces the Desired Color Tone

For custom-made furniture, color tone is just as important as size.
For this storage cabinet, we applied a stain finish to bring the color closer to the client’s requested tone.

When comparing the photos before and after staining, you can see that the distinctive grain of oak becomes more pronounced, creating a deeper and richer expression. Rather than simply applying a dark color, we adjusted the color while preserving the wood grain, resulting in a finish that maintains the natural texture of real wood.

Being able to decide the color while considering harmony with the furniture and flooring of the entire space is another advantage of custom-made furniture.

4. A Refined Texture Created by a Matte Finish

A matte coating was used for the final finish. By reducing gloss, light reflection becomes softer, creating a calm and refined impression. It also allows the shadows and depth of the wood grain to appear more natural, so the original appeal of oak can be enjoyed.

In recent years, interiors have tended to be designed with a simple overall look, and a matte finish works very well with such spaces. It also makes it easier to feel the warmth of wood when touched, resulting in furniture that can be used with affection for many years.

5. Counter Storage That Combines Storage Capacity and Design

For storage furniture, it is important not only that it holds many items, but also that it looks beautiful.
This counter storage cabinet has a clean and simple appearance thanks to its flat door design. By aligning the door lines evenly, the long horizontal furniture does not feel heavy and blends beautifully into the space.

Because it can hide stored items while keeping the entire room looking organized, it works well in a wide range of spaces, including living rooms, dining areas, and workspaces.
