This project features a custom-built floor-to-ceiling bookshelf with an integrated counter desk, designed for a residence in Setagaya, Tokyo.

This project was created based on plans developed from the architect’s original design concept.

The built-in shelving extends across three connected walls in a U-shaped layout, featuring traditional lattice-frame construction throughout.

One wall incorporates a large bookshelf with an integrated counter desk, while the adjoining wall provides wardrobe storage.

The shelves are made from blackened steel, and the bookshelf section features solid brass rods that also function as built-in bookends.

The desktop is finished with natural linoleum, the same high-quality material used by Artek for many of its furniture designs.
