1. A Playful Design Made with Randomly Applied Hemlock Wood
Hemlock wood, also known as HEM, was used for the hanging sliding door in the washroom.
What makes this door distinctive is the design, in which hemlock pieces of different thicknesses are applied at random. The natural, irregular arrangement creates shadows depending on how the light hits the surface, making the door itself an accent within the space.
Because the natural color and texture of the wood are preserved, the finish has presence without being overly bold, and it remains timeless even as the years pass. The expression unique to natural materials gives the entire home a gentle and warm atmosphere.

2. Natural Wood Kitchen Storage Designed for Ease of Use
For the kitchen storage, durable laminated wood was used as the structural material, while ash veneer was applied to the surfaces of the doors and drawers.
Ash is known for its bright and refined grain, and it is a popular material that brings the warmth of natural wood into a space. By using a veneer finish, it is possible to enjoy beautiful wood grain similar to solid wood while achieving stable quality that is less prone to warping and cracking.
The interior of the storage combines open shelves, drawers, and hinged doors, allowing each section to be used according to its purpose. Cooking tools, dishes, pantry items, and other belongings can be stored efficiently, so the design considers not only beauty but also everyday usability.
By unifying the color tone with the doors and flooring, the kitchen does not stand apart from the rest of the home, creating a sense of unity throughout the space. Through custom sizing and careful material selection, the result is storage furniture that balances functionality and design.

3. Spacious Drawer Counter Storage Finished with Ash Veneer
We created a large-capacity counter storage unit based on laminated wood. Ash veneer was used for the drawers, giving the piece a unified look with the doors and storage furniture throughout the home.
The appeal of counter storage is that it can store more than it appears to from the outside. Drawers can hold stationery and small items, while hinged-door storage can organize daily necessities and stock items, helping to keep the space neat while reducing visual clutter. The top surface can also be used as a display shelf or work surface, making it a versatile built-in piece for everyday living.
The ash veneer used for the drawers has a beautiful grain and gives an elegant impression. The vertical flow of the grain makes the entire storage unit look clean and refined, resulting in a calm design that feels integrated with the wall.

4. Large Built-In Wall Storage Showcasing the Beautiful Grain of Ash
Next to the stair hall, we installed a large wall storage unit made with laminated wood as the base material. Ash veneer was used for the doors to create unity with the natural wood feeling throughout the home.
By aligning the beautiful grain unique to ash in a vertical direction, the design gives a clean impression with a sense of height. Although the storage covers a large wall area, it avoids feeling oppressive and blends naturally into the space as if it were part of the architecture itself.

Inside, there is ample capacity for storing daily necessities, cleaning tools, seasonal items, and more. By keeping items that tend to create a lived-in look neatly behind the doors, shared spaces can be kept beautiful and organized.
The same ash material is also used for the adjacent counter storage and doors, creating a sense of unity throughout the space. Another major advantage of custom-made furniture is that the storage plan can be designed without waste, according to the wall dimensions and intended use.
This wall storage focuses on “concealed storage” rather than display storage, while still allowing you to enjoy the warmth and texture of natural wood. It combines generous storage capacity with refined design.

5. Simple Ash Veneer Hanging Sliding Door That Blends into the Space
For the toilet door, we created a simple hanging sliding door with ash veneer applied vertically.
By making the most of the straight and beautiful grain unique to ash and avoiding unnecessary decoration, the design gives the entire space a clean impression. It also harmonizes naturally with the surrounding cedar-paneled walls and solid wood flooring, further enhancing the warmth of wood throughout the home. In addition, because a top-hung sliding door was adopted, there is no rail on the floor, making the appearance cleaner and cleaning easier. The soft-close hardware also allows the door to close quietly all the way, taking everyday usability and safety into consideration.

At first glance, the design may seem understated, but the texture and beauty of the natural wood grain stand out, giving the space a refined atmosphere. This finish emphasizes unity with the entire home, something that can only be achieved through custom-made work.

Summary
The doors and built-in furniture created for this project are custom-made pieces that make the most of the appeal of natural wood while also focusing on ease of daily living. The randomly applied hemlock sliding door serves not only as a functional door, but also as a design element that adds character to the space. In addition, the storage furniture and doors unified with ash give the entire home a sense of consistency and refinement.
Because doors and storage are used every day, it is important to balance comfort of use with design. Sizes and specifications that are difficult to achieve with ready-made products can be flexibly tailored to the home through custom-made production.
