1. Client Request and Completed Sofa Bench
We received a request to produce a two-seater sofa bench.
Walnut was used for the wooden frame, and a warm red fabric was selected for the upholstery.
Although the structure is simple, the design becomes an accent in the space.

2. Design Focus: Rounded Armrests
One of the distinctive features of this bench is the rounded armrests, which create a soft impression.
The edges were carefully rounded and finished into a shape that feels pleasant to the touch.
・Creates a gentle appearance
・Provides a smooth hand feel
・Offers peace of mind for everyday use
These small details lead to furniture that can be used with affection for many years.

3. Compatibility of Walnut and Red Upholstery
The red upholstery stands out beautifully against the calm brown tone of walnut.
This combination is characterized by a very good balance between “calmness” and “brightness.”

It is not too bold, yet it has a clear sense of individuality.
The result is a beautifully balanced finish.

4. The Appeal of the Finish: Oil Finish
The bench was finished with two coats of oil.
This provides the following benefits.
・Makes full use of the natural texture of the wood
・Creates a natural sheen
・Gives the surface a smooth and pleasant feel
Walnut in particular shows its beautiful grain even more clearly with an oil finish.
Its color deepens with use, allowing you to enjoy changes over time.

5. Structural and Durability Features
As you can see from the photo, the internal frame is firmly constructed.
・Strength secured through the structure beneath the seat
・Solid stability unique to solid wood
・Design intended for long-term use
By carefully making even the parts that are not visible, the result is furniture that can be used safely for many years.

6. What Is Walnut Wood?
