1. Custom Sofa Made to Fit the Space

This sofa was designed and produced to fit perfectly with the wall dimensions and architectural built-in elements of the residential space.
It is furniture that emphasizes a sense of unity with the space, something difficult to achieve with ready-made products.

While securing enough depth and width for comfortable seating, the height was designed so the sofa would not feel overwhelming in the space.
By fitting neatly across the wall, it creates a clean, efficient layout without wasted space.

2. Combination of Carpentry Work and Furniture Making

In this project, the work was carried out with the following division.
・Leg section: Built by the carpenter
・Seat and backrest: Produced and installed as furniture

Rather than considering architecture and furniture separately, designing and producing them as one integrated element resulted in a highly refined finish.
The ability to adjust the dimensions and fit on site is also a feature unique to custom-made work.

3. Harmony with a Space Surrounded by Wood

The space where the sofa is placed is designed to be surrounded by wood materials such as the following.
・Wood-paneled wall
・Log column
・Herringbone flooring

By making use of natural wood materials for the sofa as well, the design blends naturally into the space.
In particular, the soft wood grain of western hemlock pairs well with the surrounding wood materials, creating a unified finish.

4. Sofa Color as an Accent

A deep wine-red fabric was used for the seat and backrest.
By adding this wine-red color within the natural tones of the wood, the natural materials stand out even more beautifully.

・Tightening the impression of the space
・Creating a visual accent
・Creating a warm atmosphere

This is a balanced design that gives just the right amount of presence to a simple wooden space.

5. The Appeal Unique to Custom Sofas

The benefits of a custom-built sofa like this can be summarized as follows.
・It can be made to fit the wall dimensions perfectly
・It fits the shape of the space
・It can be designed as an integrated part of the architecture

It is possible to create furniture optimized for the space, something that ready-made products cannot achieve.
By designing according to the atmosphere and way of using the home, we can create a more comfortable and attractive space.
