Custom-Made Stackable Storage Bench & Torii-Inspired Stool

Custom Stacking Storage Bench and Torii-Inspired Stool

Custom Furniture, Doors, Built-in Woodwork, Repurposing, Repairs & Maintenance | OJIKI Workshop

This custom project features a multifunctional stacking storage bench with a built-in magazine rack, along with an original stool inspired by the traditional Japanese torii gate.

The customer wanted to make the most of a limited living space, so we created a multifunctional bench that combines several practical features into a single piece of furniture.

(Designed by N.O.D. iron & wood works)

Features of the Bench

• Comfortable seating bench
• Built-in storage compartment
• Stackable design to free up floor space when not in use
• Integrated magazine rack, making it easy for children to organize books
• Removable seat cushion that can also be used as a floor cushion

The finished piece was designed to maximize both functionality and space efficiency while maintaining a clean, modern appearance.

Torii-Inspired Stool

This stool is an original design created by OJIKI Workshop.

Its form is inspired by the torii, the traditional gate found at Japanese shrines. By visually floating the seat above the frame, the base appears lighter and more refined.

We also used thicker-than-standard urethane cushioning to create a softer, fuller seat with enhanced comfort.
